The ALCM has established its precision strike capability against sea-surface and land-based targets from large, stand-off ranges in all-weather, day & night conditions. BRAHMOS ALCM carries a conventional warhead and has become the most powerful airborne weapon of modern times to undertake air combat operations.

The EO/IR sensors are augmented with sophisticated image processing, allowing users to see through conditions such as fog, haze, low light, and total darkness. Image blending provides the ability to exploit imagery from the different sensors and extract details that would otherwise go undetected by a single sensor. A host of image processing features to improve operator performance and reduce workload, such as Moving Target Detection (MTI), are embedded right into the system.

The Laser Target Designator (LTD) Simulator supports this mission by replicating a binocular laser-based system used to mark and designate targets. It combines range-finding and geolocation capabilities with a coded laser beam (PRF) that enables aircraft crews to visually acquire marked targets. This tool enhances the realism and precision of GFAC training, especially in high-risk scenarios that are difficult or unsafe to reproduce in live exercises.
